Lowestoft Is One of Our Favourite Traditional Seaside Resorts
With its beautiful beaches, endless things to do and plenty of great places to eat in Lowestoft, this charming seaside town has something for everyone. It’s also at the heart of an area that’s rapidly becoming known for its vibrant food scene and relaxed coastal lifestyle. And who doesn’t want a holiday home with all of that on their doorstep?
Having your own holiday home at Tingdene’s North Denes means your seaside getaway spot is about as far east as you can be in the UK. In fact, you’ll be very close to Ness Point, which is literally Britain’s most easterly point.
1. East Point Pavilion
East Point Pavilion will be near the top of any search right now. It’s where you can savour the sea views as well as fabulous food.
And there’s more. East Point Pavilion is the place to be with a string of events, including live music, DJs, pop-up makers and creative activities, and even yoga.

2. Giardino Lowestoft – and So Much More in the Sparrows Nest
Giardino Lowestoft is somewhere well worth a visit. For starters (if you see what we mean!), it’s in a lovely and historic setting.
The Sparrows Nest began life as the gardens of the wealthy 19th-century landowner Robert Sparrow and was home to the headquarters and central depot for the Royal Naval Patrol Service in September 1939. Today, it’s a popular place to visit and includes Lowestoft’s War Memorial Museum.
Giardino is all about authentic Italian food. It’s family-friendly dining, and they get the balance just right. There’s a children’s menu – but there’s a great selection of wines and beers too. Something for everyone.
And it’s part of the Tingdene Privilege Scheme. As a Tingdene holiday home owner you qualify for a Tingdene Privilege Card, giving you access to a whole range of discounts at establishments across the UK.
3. Martello’s Coffee House
Also in Sparrows Nest, you’ll find Martello’s Coffee House. Try Martello’s for great coffee and brilliant breakfasts – and much more.
4. JOJO’s Kitchen & Bar
Lots of Lowestoft restaurants are family run and JoJo’s is no exception. This American-inspired Kitchen and Bar offers superb burgers and Southern-style cuisine.
5. The Lighthouse Cafe
If it’s breakfast you’re looking for, look no further than The Lighthouse Cafe. This is Lowestoft’s highest-rated breakfast on TripAdvisor. Need we say more? Other than delivery won’t be an issue as it’s very close to your holiday home at Tingdene at North Denes. Just saying.
6. The Lodge
The Lodge is part of Woburn Farm, a family-fun farm and venue close to Tingdene Waterside Park & Hotel in Corton. Expect great coffee, great breakfast, themed nights, line dancing and so much more.
7. Coast Bar & Restaurant
Speaking of Waterside Park & Hotel, head there to find Coast Bar & Restaurant. Enjoy delicious food all day, and popular events like bingo, quizzes and live music, all overlooking the beautiful Suffolk coast just north of Lowestoft.
Why not enjoy a dip in the swimming pool before or after your meal at Coast?
8. Sgt Peppers Lowestoft
Popular Forty Years Ago and Still Today…
Sgt Peppers Lowestoft has a longstanding history. It was founded in 1982, and it certainly delivers when it comes to style and atmosphere. It’s a real experience: the sounds of the sixties, the super food and masses of memorabilia make this one of the great places to eat in Lowestoft.
You’ll find Sgt Peppers in the old High Street.
9. MarkG
Close to Sgt Peppers is also home to Mark G. This is a place that draws on British and European influences and specialises in seafood. Menus are created daily ,and Mark G uses local and sustainable ingredients. It’s a great place for lunch or dinner.
10. Lowestoft Tandoori
Still in High Street there’s Lowestoft Tandoori. Authentic food, delivery service, great reviews. What more can you say?
11. Jolly Sailors
And what can we say about the Jolly Sailors? It’s part of Moss & Co, a family-owned hospitality group with venues around Suffolk The Jolly Sailors at Pakefield typifies their offering of classic and contemporary cuisine, with the added bonus of beautiful views over Pakefield Beach.
12. Moss & Co Broadlands
Did you know one of Moss and Co’s latest ventures is Moss & Co Broadlands at our very own Broadlands Park & Marina, just a short drive from Lowestoft in Oulton Broad?

Tingdene North Denes is ideally placed to enjoy all of these great places to eat – and many more. And yet it’s quiet, and near the beach. Well within striking distance of so much of the east – including, of course, the Broads – there’s little wonder it’s a popular place for holiday homes. Far be it from us to make a meal of it, but it’s got so much to offer, including that Tingdene Privilege Card.
Come try a feast, in the east.
